11 communities receive solar lighting

Ejura (Ash), Sept. 16, GNA 96 The government has provided 11 solar lighting systems to 11 communities in the Ejura-Sekyedumase District in the Ashanti Region in support of the Non-Formal Education Division (NFED) functional literacy programme in the district. Dr Joshua Ayarkwa, the District Chief Executive, who announced this, mentioned the communities as Nyamebekyere, Dwenewoho, Bisiw Number one, Aframso, Bemi and Drobong. The rest he said were Nkrampo, Frante, Kantankani, Kyenkyenkura and Babaso. The DCE, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency at the last meeting of the assembly at Ejura on Thursday, said three out of the 12 income generating activity group learners benefited from a credit facility of 16 million cedis. He hinted that the Division under the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, distributed 17 packets of roofing sheets, 52 bicycles, 37 sewing machines and 48 ghetto blasters to facilitators.
